Dengue Virus Universal RNA Detection Kit (Fluorescence PCR Method) P090-590H
Dengue fever is a disease caused by the Dengue Virus (DV), transmitted primarily by mosquitoes, and infects more than 390 million people each year. Although most infected people are asymptomatic or suffer from self-limiting dengue, up to 1 million clinical cases develop severe manifestations, including dengue haemorrhagic fever and shock syndrome, resulting in about 25,000 deaths each year, mainly among children. it is one of the fastest growing infectious diseases worldwide and is now entrenched in a growing number of large tropical cities.
Dengue Virus belongs to a subgroup of serotypes in the genus Flavivirus of the family Flaviviridae, with a morphological structure similar to that of B encephalitis virus, but smaller in size, about 17-25 nm. Dengue Virus is divided into four serotypes, l, ll, ll and lV, according to their antigenicity, and different strains of the same type also have antigenic differences. The type ll is the most widely spread; and there is crossover in antigenicity between the various types of viruses; and some antigens are the same as those of B Encephalitis Virus and West Nile Virus. ldentification of the serotype of dengue virus infection is a guide to symptomatic treatment.
