The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday which occurs on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar, which corresponds to late May or June in the Gregorian calendar. In 2023, Dragon Boat Festival falls on June 22, and China will have 3 days of public holiday from June 22 to June 24.

As a commemoration of the ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan, the holiday is celebrated by holding dragon boat races and eating sticky rice dumplings called zongzi, to ward off evil spirits and diseases.
